months of may and june, hubby and hani had been busy scouting for birthday presents; recently had attended birthday bashes

• zaraa el-sofea's 2nd birthday

zaraa is the daughter of zarul and yus or mak ngah ani's eldest cucu. it was held on saturday evening, 30th may at mak ngah's residence in selayang. all the in-laws were there, mak came with kak long, kak iza anak beranak, kak yot just arrived from dubai for a 2-week vacation, hasan's family and busu mail's family. yus's parents and her kakak were there and so were few friends. zaraa was not in her best mood cos dikejutkan from tidur to cut the power puff birthday cake and gosh, banyaknya dapat teddy bears as birthday presents ..

• mikhael's 4th birthday

mikhael jose elmanor is ferlynda and eric's eldest son or kak ani abang faisal's eldest cucu. they are residing in toulose, france but are back for holidays. at 2pm on tuesday, 2nd june kak ani had invited hani and the kids to have lunch at her bungalow; nasi beriani ayam goreng, roti jala and kari ayam, tauhu ros and banyak lagi were served. mikhael was presented with a ben-10 birthday cake from the beloved grandma and he'd received many toys from the grand uncles and aunties; uncle hasan had presented him a battery powered train

• najmi's 24th birthday

tuesday, 2nd june is najmi's 24th birthday; najmi is aamal's fiance, our future son-in-law. currently he is in bintulu sarawak and will be heading to pasir gudang johor soon. last year he managed to celebrate with us but not this year; pagi2 nii, hani dah terima his latest photo, he looks handsome in his full uniform .. jaga diri baik2

nasi kerabu

as scheduled and with colleagues from kota damansara, kak iza, wati, ella and kak ani, hani had attended the morning coffee hosted by kak tengku, hani's neighbour. being orang istana, kakak and her maid, mek had served us ngan delicious nasi kerabu hitam siap ngan daging bakar, solok ikan, ikan
goreng tepung and telur asin besides the ulam2an; as for dessert we had beranika kuih muih melayu and bubur pulut hitam; kakak tengku had also served us with one special menu from thailand 'daun kadok' yang dimakan ngan udang kering, kacang tanah, kelapa parut, cili, bawang besar and kuah, yummy yummy ..

with good food, good company and with take aways, we were at her bungalow till 2.00 pm ..

pre reunion

at 3 pm yesterday, hubby and hani were at pn ha's house in putrajaya for a pre reunion session. many regular faces were there including our vp, bilal, tok rosed, aziz, tora, megat, le c, jo, azam, khairul, wahab, pn pah, pn su and cikgu shumdin from kbharu. ada kawan kita bawa wife/girlfriend baru laa pula .. the meeting is to discuss the final preparation for the reunion which is to be held on the 6th june

the beauty of sms clans is that the spouses, especially the ladies pun dah cam member; pn shimah, pn norhayati, pn w nor zakiah, cikgu liza, cikgu zainon, pn zu, pn maznah, dr noreha and many others are very friendly and dah cam adik beradik. hubby dah jadikan clans nii cam geng sekolah dia laa juga ..

the host, pn ha en syed dah sediakan bermacam2 jenis makanan including nasi beriani, ayam masak merah, ikan masam manis, rendang daging, acar buah, pulut kuning ngan rendang ayam, pengat pisang ngan pulut, kuih lompat tikam and many more. we were at their residence till 6 pm .. tq daun keladi

• aamal's fiance, najmi left for work

with najmi's ma and ayoh, aamal had sent her fiance, najmi to board the 11 am flight to bintulu; guess his route will be bintulu - japan - korea - india - pasir gudang. normally he'll be away for 6 months before dapat cuti for 3 months .. jaga diri baik2

• today is hubby's 49th birthday

no celebration planned but a closed friend of us, jamie urged to bawa nasi daging for dinner; so dinner will just be jamie and hubby hazellah, kak asiah and abang din, aamal and her friend, luna, hubby and hani. hubby had been craving for this menu from kedah/penang; jamie had also prepared the jelatah and cakni (blended tomatos, chilli) for condiments; it's so delicious and tak muak; tq daun keladi jamie ..

as for dessert, jamie had cooked bubur pulut hitam and hubby had brought home a birthday cake from his office mate. kak ani abang faisal had presented a birthday cake to hubby. lepas isyak, kak asiah abang din and jamie hazellah sampai, also ngan birthday cake. this year hubby kaya ngan birthday cakes ..
orange juice, kopi o 'kaw', kacang2 and asam is on the house; the makan2 and borak2 session lasted till 2 in the morning .. had then urged jamie to bawa balik the cakes to the kids back home, maklumlaa pondok hani nii dah tak ramai penghuni

• earlier, hani had promised kak melini (ngan cucu kiera, makin comel) and kak faizah to host the morning coffee around 9.30 am today; with additional fried meehoon and sikit kuih muih, they were at pondok hani till 12 noon

he doesn't like fishing but he likes to rear beautiful fish, hence sepanjang our marriage, dah banyak saiz and spesis ikan yang hani dah tengok. he really loves japanese carps, to some it's strenous since carps need very clean water and surroundings, but hubby doesn't mind; he'll be spending hours at his small fish pond or aquarium ..


masuk je pagar rumah, his first stop is at the planters pond which currently has 3 big and 53 smaller japanese carps .. it's serene to hear the sound of water dropping and thus, we've an aquarium in the kitchen which small guppies used to be, now hubby dok bela 7 ekor ikan air masin

happy teacher's day

wishing all teachers out there "happy teacher's day" especially to all my sisters, ana and hubby din, aya and ayu; my auntie, moksu marini, cousins ismadi, ismiah, ismadiha, yati and rozi - jasa2 mu akan dikenang oleh students buat selamanya ..

at 78 years old and more than 30 years jadi cekgu pencen, ayoh is still popularly known as cekgu lloh kg dangar and every morning he'll be at kedai kopi dekat pasar with his cekgu2 pencen; tuu yang buat ayoh sihat and aktif lagi ..

many of hani's friends are now cekgu, pensyarah or professors locally or internationally; congrats to noni in uk, prof zali and cekgu karimah in saudi, prof dr nal, dr wan hasiah, dr lan, dr yati, cekgu az, cekgu muhi, cekgu ku norizan, cekgu wan dalilah, cekgu juwairiyah, cekgu sharifah and many more cekgus' out there - you are all great guys .. inshaallah hani will join you all later

jasa guru or cekgu memang tidak dapat dibalas and hani really salute and credited my former primary teachers in sis pmas, cikgu bashir ahmad, ustaz mokhtar, cekgu khadijah, cekgu chamras ehkoo, mr liang, mrs toh and many more; they had transformed us from zero to hero ..

last nite hani had watched a drama on astro sempena hari guru titled murabbi and quoted - seorang guru ada lah murabbi sepanjang hayatnya ..

sweat regime

at hubby's monthly family gathering, futsal and table tennis are a must and everybody in the family are good players. we are a family of sportsman; hubby was a very active footballer during his younger days and now is very involved with golf, my eldest, aliff represented his college in football, the only daughter aamal was a state rep for badminton and hockey, my youngest aqeel is representing school in rugby while hani was a college volley baller during my diploma studies


now, being a full time home maker, hani will try to be on the old treadmill at least for half hour, 3 days a week and then will try to get another half hour nap in the infra red sauna space at 50 degrees. lately, we are out for evening walk around the pondok and gosh, it's really a regime, not considering the dinner later .. hani will really sweat

sampai bila ..

it had been 2 weeks, hubby and hani went for evening walk round the park in our housing area. after hubby is back from work, solat asar and our tea, we'll be changing into our jogging suits and started walking; his is brisk while mine is leisure; we will be out from our pondok for more than 30 mins everyday. on our lucky evenings, ada je friends jemput minum and willing to send us home ..

lately had been telling him that hani teringin nak pakai balik my beautiful kebaya which had been untouched for this 6th june reunion; weight tak de laa increase banyak since pencen but need to shread off more than 5 kilos, baru laa nampak ngam sikit. guess hubby too needs exercise since his golf is only on saturday unless ada tournament, he'll be practising on friday evening

hani had been wondering sampai bila hubby nak teman hani jogging, do really pray biar laa sampai bila-bila, selagi kami berdua larat ..

oops ..

was so shocked when opening my fridge and discovered these two guys smiling back at me; actually it's my chomel's project for the semester, they are to produce a talk show on tuesday and these are part of the props; it's hard to find big pumpkins and thus, decided to spray the water melons later
mama and daughter are miles apart but hani really admired her creativity .. they'll be presenting on "oops .. momok"and these few days, there are many black spiders kat pondok hani

cik kunyit

semenjak pencen nii, hani had been spending more time kat garden and terperasan ada sarang burung kat the japanese bamboo; hani siram pokok macam biasa je but lately nii, cik kunyit will fly nearer and buat the chirping sound yang lebih; hubby will normally perli saying that hani's best friend tengah jealous and bila diacknowledge baru laa terbang jauh sikit

on monday morning, hani discover that 2 ekor cik kunyit junior dah belajar nak terbang

meriah laa hidup orang pencen nii ..

mother's day

every year, the second sunday in may is gazetted to be the mother's day and this year, mother's day is celebrated on the 10th may.

as usual, very early morning hani had called cek back home and wished her the very best in every thing and thank her so much for bringing me up .. bought cek a very small bangle and had given her during hani's visit to kampung earlier

since early sunday morning, hani's phone had been receiving messages wishing for a happy mother's day; was so excited upon receiving a beautiful video clip from cekgu karimah and prof zali in saudi arabia. my aliff, aamal and aqeel had texted hani with beautiful words and gifts, by evening had received messages from bakal-bakal menantu; to all thank you so much ..

had fetched aqeel from hostel as early as 11 am and went to bangsar via duke highway. aqeel longed for pizza and lepas je makan, had took away for mak and kak long in desa jaya, kepong. had bought a pair of brooch for mak this year and was with her till 4 pm before sending aqeel back to hostel

later, hubby had treated hani for dinner at mum's kitchen ..

may babes

hani had a happy and wonderful life with many born under the zodiac of taurus and gemini; they are very at ease, happy go lucky and want their voices heard ..

as always "a year older is a year wiser" - happy birthday to hubby, his 49th this 19th may; dr faisal who had celebrated his 62nd birthday on the 3rd; puan rohani also celebrating the 62nd on the 10th; en khalid will be celebrating his 54th birthday on the 22nd; kak pah kajang on the 23rd, rasanya celebrating the 65th birthday and arwah yusliza was born on the 25th of may 1970, alfatihah ..

fruitful thursday noon

semenjak pencen nii and since early this year, hani had attended kelas fardhu ain ngan ustazah datin noraini, orang kelantan and wife of dato' haji dusuki, every alternate thursday from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm. the best part is that ustazah will translate the kitab from arabic to english and most of the communication during majlis ilmu nii is in english, kelas gitu ..

many full time house-wives, inclusive of mak2 datin, lady of leisure and cikgu2 yang kerja separuh hari, attended the majlis. it's very fruitful, besides the new santapan rohani added, we will normally ada makan2 and get-to-know session; hani had been staying in bch for almost 10 years and baru now, rasa baru nak kenal neighbours

last week, we had decided to hold bacaan yaasin and tahlil at any of the member's house yang request, for thursday afternoon yang tak de kelas fardhu ain. yesterday we had started kat rumah puan fairus and ustazah liza had lead the majlis yang bermula from 3.00 pm. hani pun dah book slot to play host for bacaan yaasin and tahlil, alhamdulillah ..

cantiknya ..

watered the garden this morning and so excited to see the flower blooming from the banana tree; it's purplish in color and we had bought the small plant a month ago at a very cheap price



captured our colorful crystal chess set bought long ago on lenses and it's still cantik; sitting proudly on one of the pga coffee table; one side is frosted while the other is clear

labour day holidays

hani had planned to go outstation during the labour day but the suggestion was brushed off since the kids prefer the comfy of the pondok rather than the jam along the highway; first time in 26 years hani celebrated labour day as an unemployed and guess what, it's so sweeeet ..

it started with abang fetching adik from hostel on thursday and they reached home before 4 pm; my lil bro g arrived an hour earlier to collect 2 bottles of sambal jeruk which cek kirim from kampung and to continue the unfinished ps2 game with aliff. had served doughnuts and bread which was bought earlier from mum's kitchen for tea when hubby was back from work

we had steamboat for dinner at our favourite restaurant; aamal couldnot join us since she had to reshoot her assignment and we'd stopped over at nsk hypermarket for the monthly grocery, aqeel and aliff took the chance to buy their weekly ration too. aamal and luna, aamal's buddy sampai rumah almost midnite

was lucky, immediately lepas je solat subuh on friday, hubby ajak jogging since of late hani had been complaining on the increase of weight. went to pasar since hani will be cooking lunch, hari nii cukup chorum and hubby will only be going for golf lepas sembahyang jumaat nanti. had cooked steamed ikan bawal emas and goreng kunyit burung puyuh to accompany the sambal mangga muda and peria. aamal and luna left to college lepas lunch

saturday morning, hubby had urged hani to follow him for kelantanese breakfast in kg chempedak, sg plong; it's a distance from bch but kedai mok su is popular for nasi kerabu, nasi dagang, nasi belauk and laksam besides the pulut pagi, apam bakar and kuih akok. as usual, the kids prefer their beauty sleep rather than following us around and had packed nasi dagang for all of them. aliff had booked the 1 o'clock wolverine movie in cgi for all of us; we then had spaghetti for dinner before watching alternately the live telecast of AIM and AF weekly consert

for sunday's breakfast, hubby had mee rebus and hani had mee sup at kak kam's in bch before going down to the market. for lunch, hani had cooked sweet sour siakap and buttered prawn besides the normal fried vege and sambal jeruk. had ironed aqeel's uniform while watching the finale of pencarian pengacara nona. abang is sending adik back to hostel and they left home at 4.30 pm; aamal, hubby and hani then doze off for a nap kejap

tho' we're not away for the holidays, all of us were happy since everybody is home and the pondok was full with gelak ketawa, usik mengusik and good food; hani missing the boys already ..
